The Webhostingreport.net website reaches almost 30,000 words of content this month. I am trying to add fresh content once per week. Seeing all this content - there must be other ways to use it, too. A friend suggests to put it into a book and to sell it a second time. Hm, a book. Not a bad idea. I had already published a book in Germany in 2001 and had made quite some money with it. The nice thing about a book is - you only have to work until it is completed and published. After that you can lean back and see the money roll in. Well, it’s not that easy but publishing a book is a nice way to add income with out having spend that many hours of work later on. Publishing a book creates passive income. I am still making money from the book I published in 2001. I started converting the content of the website into a book. A friend offered help and wanted to do the editorial work and do the proof reading.
I would not be able to work too much on my business this month as my Dad from Germany would come to visit me. We would go up to Yellowstone National Park for about a week. I had already informed my hosting customers about my planned absence so that they knew that support would be limited. My hosting clients were aware of limited support every once in a while when they signed up (again). They still loved my support and never had a reason to complain.
Earlier this year Aussie_Bob/Httpme.com had sold his business to Voxtreme.com. Great Move for Aussie_Bob - not so good move for us clients. I was not too impressed with how Voxtreme handled support. The level of quality went down 10%-20% in my opinion. Something I would look at once I would be back from my vacation.
Things were running smooth and I had not spend a single dollar on advertising. But I realized that not spending money on advertising would also limit the growth of my business efforts. However - my plan was to fill up the bank account with some more cash. Having cash in the bank would make it easier to make decisions when the right time would come. I saw the Webhostingreport only as piece of the whole puzzle.
My full-time job still sucked. I was looking forward to get out for a week of vacation.
