PlentyofFish.com pulling in $5,000,000.00+ per Year

I was reading Andrew Johnson’s Web Publishing Blog today and saw a posting about how much money the free dating website “PlentyofFish.com” is making via Google Adsense. According to Andrew’s posting this income level was sort of confirmed by Google itself. The actual numbers floating around $5,000,000 to $10,000,000 per year. These are impressive numbers. I am even more impressed by the amount of possible fluctuation than by the numbers mentioned. A fluctuation of 5 Million Dollar is huge. That kind of money is more than what most people will earn in two lifes (or more). ;)

Anyway - the reason I am writing about this is the fact that I find those stories very impressive and motivating. It is awesome to see that a webmaster can make that kind of money by following his plan and making the right strategic moves. I am sure that Markus Frind, the owner of Plentyoffish.com, has received more than one offer to sell the site, but is holding on to it (and is being rewarded for it). Unconfirmed news have it that his site is actually running on a very small server setup which keeps the cost of running the site very low. Again, I like these kind of stories as they keep me motivated. I don’t know if I will ever hit gold with my Internet endeavors, but you only find out when trying.
